Role:
Primary Prevention:DDACs conduct awareness programs and educational activities to prevent substance use, particularly among vulnerable populations like adolescents and youth.
Demand Reduction:They work to reduce the demand for drugs by addressing the root causes of substance use and promoting healthy alternatives.
Identification and Referral:DDACs identify individuals struggling with substance use and facilitate their referral to appropriate treatment and rehabilitation services.
Treatment and Rehabilitation:They provide or link individuals with counseling, treatment, and rehabilitation services for substance dependence.
Capacity Building:DDACs may also train community members, including peer educators, to support prevention and early intervention efforts.
Collaboration:DDACs work with other relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to address drug abuse.
